Tonight many of Dave MacIsaac’s friends and contemporaries will be on hand to play in his honour and help celebrate this living legend. Dave is a musician’s musician and is called upon for his invaluable recollection of tunes, tune names and tune origins. He’s also the one to provide great “dirt” in his fiddle playing and is well-known for his electric guitar picking and riffs. Two of his greatest musical influences have been Buddy MacMaster from Judique and Arthur Muise from Chéticamp, and we’ll have family and friends of both on hand to play for us tonight. While he won’t be giving out prescriptions, the CBU Honourary Doctor will certainly have the musical medicine for what ails you.
